How it Works
Making a Number Plate At First Class Plates.
Creating a high-quality number plate involves a precise step-by-step process to ensure a professional finish. The process begins with printing the reflective background using a specialized printer loaded with yellow (for the rear plate) or white (for the front plate) reflective sheeting. Ensuring proper alignment and print settings guarantees a crisp, clear finish. Once printed, the reflective sheet is left to dry briefly before moving to the next stage.
Next, the printed reflective sheet is applied to a rigid acrylic plate using a pressure roller. This step ensures a strong bond between the layers, eliminating air bubbles and imperfections. The roller provides a smooth, uniform surface, resulting in a professional and polished appearance.
With the background ready, the registration numbers and letters are applied using a jig. The plate is placed into the jig to ensure perfect alignment, allowing each high-quality, pre-cut character to be positioned accurately. Once the numbers and letters are in place, a rolling press is used to secure them firmly to the surface, ensuring they are evenly spaced and well-adhered.
After securing the characters, a final quality inspection is conducted. The alignment, adhesion, and overall finish are carefully checked to ensure the number plate meets required standards. The completed plate is then cleaned with a microfiber cloth to remove any dust or fingerprints before being packaged for dispatch or collection.
At First Class Plates, precision and attention to detail are key to producing durable and professional number plates. Every step in the process ensures a high-quality finish, making each plate ready for use on a vehicle with confidence.
Legal Documentation Requirement
At First Class Plates, we require legal documentation to verify rightful ownership before issuing a number plate. After payment, we will request one form of identification and one proof of entitlement to ensure compliance with DVLA regulations. Acceptable identification documents include a driving license, passport, or national ID card. Proof of entitlement must be provided in the form of a V5C logbook, V5C/2 new keeper slip, a V750 certificate of entitlement, a V778 retention document, or a lease or hire agreement. This process ensures that only authorized individuals can receive a number plate, maintaining security and legal compliance.
